Pecos High School Robotics students have made waves this year in both VEX Robotics and Aerial Drone Competitions, earning multiple awards and an invitation to regionals.
Led by primary coach Aimee Peralta, the PHS Robotics program built momentum all season with strong performances across both types of events. Coach Peralta also recognized the vital support of secondary coaches Ms. Rizza Catbagan, who assists with VEX Robotics, and Ms. Jundelyn Villareal, who supports the Aerial Drone teams.
At their last VEX competition, the PHS team earned the Judges’ Choice Award, a recognition given to teams that demonstrate exemplary performance, creativity, and robust engineering design. The award highlights not only technical skill but also teamwork and innovation.
Meanwhile, Pecos High School’s Aerial Drone teams have been soaring to success. In their latest competition:
Team 1033C received the Airmanship Award for showing excellent judgment, piloting skills, and dedication to drone safety regulations.
Team 1033A earned the Skills Missions Championship, awarded to the team with the highest combined score in piloting and autonomous flight missions.
Team 1033A has also qualified for the Aerial Drone Regional Championship, set to take place in May 2025! This prestigious event will feature top teams from Texas, New Mexico, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri.
Congratulations to all the students and coaches involved for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. The future of technology is bright in Pecos!
