This past weekend, the Mighty Eagle Band had their first season competition at the Bands of America New Mexico Regional in Las Cruces, New Mexico. There were 18 highly competitive bands competing in preliminary performances for a shot at finals. The band put a big effort into their preliminary performance, which paid off as they placed second in the Class AA division and were one of twelve finalist bands. This is the first year for the Mighty Eagle Band to compete in the Class AA.

Though the Mighty Eagle Band faced exhaustion from a long week filled with Homecoming activities, the band went into their final performance with a drive for success. They outdid their previous performance, having one of their best runs of the season thus far. They placed 6th overall in finals, scoring a 69.40. This is their highest placement at a Bands of America Regional in school history.

The Pecos Eagle Band is on a high right now as the season has started with a big win! The season is far from over, and the band will be competing at this year's West Texas BOA in Odessa at Ratliff Stadium. The competition will be tough, but the band is ready to put in the work to have an amazing season! The band will perform at 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 28 at Ratliff Stadium in Odessa, Texas.
