CMS Girls 8th grade basketball season has started.

On Monday, November 11, the 7th and 8th grade A and B teams traveled to the Reeves County Recreational Center for their home game against the Andrews Mustangs. The Lady Eagles showed their skills, thanks to the coaching from Vanessa Pena, Jared Mondragon, Kailey Dominguez, and Priscilla Ramirez.

According to Coach Kailey Dominguez, ā€œOverall, we played well. By halftime, we were tied, which speaks to the teamā€™s effort and resilience. Even though two players got hurt, Iā€™m proud of how weā€™re adjusting, especially since this team was in 6th grade last year. The way weā€™re coming together is impressive, and itā€™s exciting to see the progress weā€™re making. Itā€™s rewarding to work with these athletes and help them grow.

The change to playing at the Rec Center is an adjustment, but itā€™s a step forward. Change can be challenging, but itā€™s also a sign of progress, bringing us closer to our new school. Weā€™ll stay focused on making the best of it and continuing to grow as a team."

We're excited to announce that the Lady Eagles are scheduled to face the Fort Stockton Panthers next on Monday, November 18. Go Eagles! šŸ’Ŗ
