NJHS is an organization that recognizes middle school students who demonstrate excellence in five areas: scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. NJHS members are led by 8th-grade ELAR teacher Gabriela Herrera and 7th-grade Social Studies teacher Raymundo Martinez. They guide students to excel academically and commit to serving their schools and communities, while encouraging the development of leadership skills and engagement in service activities.

Gabriela Herrera stated, "We have more reading sessions planned and a campus cleanup later this semester. Current members will also be hosting help sessions for interested students who want to apply later this month."
