Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD (PBTISD) is excited to announce the hiring of Tony Pallanez as the new Head Football Coach for the Pecos Eagles. With over two decades of coaching experience and a history of building successful athletic programs, Pallanez brings a strong passion for excellence and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field.
Pallanez’s extensive coaching career includes roles as Defensive Coordinator, Offensive Coordinator, and Head Football Coach at various Texas high schools, including Saginaw High School, Fort Stockton High School, El Paso Riverside High School, and Clint High School. His leadership has guided teams to multiple district championships and playoff appearances. Additionally, Pallanez has served as an Athletic Coordinator, showcasing his ability to oversee and manage athletic programs effectively.
"We are very excited to bring Tony Pallanez on board to lead the Pecos Eagle Football Program,” said Mike Peters, Director of Athletics. “Tony comes to us with a ton of experience in establishing and maintaining successful programs. His strong character and passion for success will be a tremendous asset for the Pecos Eagles."
Throughout his career, Pallanez has emphasized promoting academic success alongside athletic achievement, fostering a culture of discipline, character, and teamwork. His efforts have resulted in numerous accolades, including recent recognition as a "Top 10 Student Choice -Most Impactful Teacher Award” at Saginaw High School in 2024. This is a true testament to his dedication to fostering relationships and student success.
"Along with my wife Emily and our son Tony, I am excited to join Eagle Nation and lead the football program in Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD,” said Coach Pallanez. “The passion and commitment PBTISD has shown towards elevating both education and athletics is undeniable. We will build a football program with high standards, and we will compete at a level that the Pecos community will be proud of."
