The Pecos-Barstow-Toyah Independent School District (PBTISD) Board of Trustees has approved a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the construction of a new Administration Building. This project will be funded through Capital funds and is not part of the 2023 Bond.
The new facility will house essential district departments, including administration, academics, human resources, business, student services, and special education. Additionally, the building will feature a dedicated history area to commemorate and honor the rich legacy of education in PBTISD, ensuring a lasting tribute to the district’s impact on the community.
"The approval of this project demonstrates the district's commitment to investing in the infrastructure necessary to support the success of our students, staff, and community," said Superintendent Brent Jaco. "This new Administration Building will not only provide modern and efficient office spaces but will also honor the proud history of education in PBTISD, serving as a cornerstone for future generations."
The facility will serve as a central hub for district operations, enhancing collaboration and streamlining services to better meet the needs of students, families, and staff. With modern office spaces and dedicated resources, the building is designed to foster efficiency and innovation while preserving the district’s heritage.
In the meantime, the PBTISD Administration staff has moved to a temporary location at 1800 S Eddy St. Construction is expected to begin early next year. The project is expected to be completed in the Summer of 2026.
