April is National Autism Awareness Month. This year marks the 17th annual World Autism Awareness Day. 

April 2 is World Autism Awareness Day, the day and month are associated with the color blue. PBTISD encourages all students and staff to wear blue throughout the month to raise awareness for autism.

Autism Society of Texas

The Autism Society of Texas provides free information and referral services for all ages and stages of autism throughout the state of Texas. The Autism Society of Texas creates opportunities for families of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) to network, share information, and offer support. 

Navigate Life Texas

The Navigate Life Texas (NLT) was created to inform and empower parents of children with disabilities or special health care needs. Health care, education, insurance, transition to adulthood and how to connect with other parents are among the many topics found on NLT. 

The NLT offers the Heart of Texas Autism Network. Some services they offer include meeting with speakers, advocacy training, the Annual Walk for Autism, a coached internship program and more.
