Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD proudly announces that Aiden Loya, a senior at Pecos High School, has achieved the remarkable honor of being selected for the prestigious All-State Band with the Texas Music Educators Association.

On January 6th, 2024, Aiden Loya journeyed to Levelland to compete in the All-Region Area Competition, showcasing his exceptional talent on the Baritone Saxophone. Outshining thousands of participants from across the state, Aiden's mastery of his instrument secured him a coveted position in the All-State Band.

The road to All-State is arduous and demanding, with over 70,000 students contending for a place in one of 18 ensembles. Aiden's success represents the pinnacle of musical achievement in Texas, with only the top 2.6% of auditioning musicians earning the esteemed title of All-State musician.

"Making All-State has been a dream I've had since I learned that it existed,” said Aiden Loya. “I feel like I've proved myself, but I can't wait for my next big goal."

Aiden's journey to musical mastery extends beyond individual accolades. As he prepares to join fellow All-State musicians in San Antonio this February, he embodies the spirit of perseverance and aspiration that defines our district's commitment to excellence.

“Making All-State is a tremendous honor,” said Richard Cole, Pecos Eagle Band Director and Director of Fine Arts. “Only a handful of students throughout Texas make it.  I am so proud of the hard work Aiden Loya puts in every day to be the best he can be. He is an amazing young man with an incredibly bright future ahead of him.”

Superintendent Brent Jaco shares his admiration for Aiden's accomplishment, stating, "Mr. Loya's accomplishment in earning a place in the All-State Band is a testament to his unwavering commitment to musical excellence. His achievement reflects our students' and educators' exceptional talent and dedication within the Pecos-Barstow-Toyah ISD community."

The PBTISD community celebrates Aiden Loya's extraordinary achievement and looks forward to witnessing his continued growth and success in the world of music and beyond. Aiden plans to continue his involvement in music after high school by studying sound design in college.
