Beginning Monday, March 14, the track and field area of Austin Elementary will be closed off to begin construction of PBTISD’s new PK-1st grade campus as part of the 2021 bond.
At the February regular board meeting, the PBTISD Board of Trustees approved the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for package one to begin this construction. At this time measures have been taken to ensure the safety and well-being of staff, students, and the public throughout the construction of this campus.
While this work will cause some inconveniences, we are excited about the building of a new school in Pecos in over 40 years. There will be normal construction noise during hours of operation. Residents near the construction site could possibly hear construction noise during this time.
The PK-1st grade campus is expected to be completed by Summer 2023 and ready in time for the first day of school.
